This includes: Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and 40 Year Old Virgin. He Also does a wide array of TV work, and is an accomplished musician. Multi-talented composer Adam Dorn has lent his expertise to countless feature films, television series and documentaries. Dorn’s music will be heard on Showtime’s upcoming docuseries, “Enemies,” from Oscar and Emmy-winning director Alex Gibney, premiering November 18. The four-part docuseries provides an in-depth look into the long history of conflict between American presidents and the FBI, and features a dark, melodic musical palette.
Dorn recently scored Season 3 of the Peabody-winning investigative journalism podcast, “Serial,” which holds an ongoing record as the fastest podcast to reach 5 million downloads and streams in iTunes’ history. Earlier this year, Dorn scored HBO’s critically acclaimed documentary and Sundance selection “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind,” directed by Emmy-winner Marina Zenovich. This was Dorn’s second collaboration with Zenovich, having previously scored the Emmy-nominated film “Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic” which won the NAACP Image Award for Best Television Documentary.
Dorn’s other credits include scoring HBO’s Emmy-nominated docuseries, “The Weight of the Nation,” from thirty-one-time Emmy-winning producer Sheila Nevins and four time Emmy-winning producer John Hoffman; the trilogy reboot of the “Kickboxer” action film series; and Melissa McCarthy’s TV Land comedy, “Nobodies.” Additionally, Dorn scored the end credits for AMC’s Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated crime drama, “Better Call Saul,” and reimagined the music for ESPN’s iconic sports program, “Around The Horn,” hosted by Tony Reali.
Beyond his career as a composer of prestige documentaries, film and television, Dorn is a successful jazz-oriented dance music producer and DJ. Under the moniker Mocean Worker, his music can be heard in numerous films and television shows including “The Devil Wears Prada,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
Dorn is the son of renowned jazz and R&B producer Joel Dorn. Growing up, he was mentored by Grammy-winning producer and musician Marcus Miller and had the honor of working with jazz legend Miles Davis.
In conjunction to his apprenticeship with Miller, Dorn studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and is an accomplished bassist. He currently resides in Los Angeles after living in New York City for the better part of 25 years.

Well, HBO has done it again. They have put out an amazing piece of work, based on a true story, filled with great actors, from a great Director, and of course, scored by an amazing Composer. That film is “My Dinner with Hervé,” and that Composer is David Norland. He is the focus of this week’s Artist Spotlight!
Our host was lucky enough to sit down with prolific song-writer and producer Robbie Nevil. Robbie has written with many of the greats, and has had an absurd amount of success placing music in Film/TV. Jake and Robbie discuss his illustrious career which included Billboard hits, as well as writing the music for Hannah Montana. Nevil gives great insight into the business that should be considered invaluable for aspiring musicians.

Jacob Shea worked under Hans Zimmer for years honing his craft, until eventually becoming the lead guy at Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop. He has composed Blue Planet II as well as Planet Earth II and a plethora of others. Jake and Jacob chat about his beginnings, working under Hans, and the projects he has scored recently.
